SERVICES:
The ‘Third After Midnight’ Museum of Darkness is the only museum in Ukraine, where all tours take place in complete darkness, and are organised by blind guides. Our mission is to break down the communication barriers between the sighted and the blind and provide blind people with decent employment opportunities. We already have a team of six guides. We use an edutainment approach – entertainment with an educational component – and conduct different events, such as the blind city tour ‘Feel Kyiv’ and various art exhibitions (sculpture, painting and architecture).
COMPANY WEBSITE:

Hi! I am Alina Marnenko, a director and co-founder of the only museum in Ukraine that operates in the dark. My friend and I worked in IT and had no experience in business or the social sector, when inspiration struck. A couple of months later, unable to forget about our idea, we thought ‘Why not implement this project ourselves?’ and used our own funds to finance the museum. It’s been going for 4 years now, and the project has never made me feel sorry about changing my life so drastically. I never allow myself to forget how lucky I am. Our project motivates me every day, and time and again it proves how important and relevant it is.
