The purpose of the project is to contribute to the cooperation between the EU and Georgia in order to unlock the positive impact of human mobility for the development processes in Georgia. The action primarily aims to assist Georgian partners in the implementation of the Migration Strategy (2021-2030) and its Action Plans (2022 and 2023) with a particular focus on mainstreaming the concept of migration and development into all sectoral areas, by ensuring achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and in line with the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum. Furthermore, the programme intends to strengthen the development impact of migration in Georgia through a multi-faceted approach, targeted at capacity-building of all stakeholders, including empowering civil society organisations to actively participate in migration-related policy debates.

The overall objective of the project is to contribute to increasing the positive impact of migration on development of Georgia by mainstreaming migration into development processes and by empowering civil society actors to participate in migration policy debates.
The specific objectives are:
- To unlock migration potential for development in Georgia;
- To advance capacities of SCMI member agencies on migration and development nexus;
- To strengthen the capacities and accountability of civil society organisations in Georgia in order to actively participate in migration - policy debate.

- Diaspora engagement programmes tailored for highly skilled diaspora members are developed and supported;
- Available labour force, skills and qualifications in Georgia are identified and matched with the labour shortages in the EU MS;
- Effective mechanisms for combatting irregular migration, THB and monitoring migration flows in the country are established;
- Capacity development tools for consular protection abroad are digitalised;
- Framework for unified approach to reintegration of Georgian labour migrants is Established;
- Research and thematic studies are conducted in support for policy and strategy documents produced by SCMI;
- CSOs on central and local level are actively engaged in migration and development nexus debate with the Government, as well as in the monitoring of the policy implementation;
- CSO partnership with Government and local communities for strengthening positive impact of migration on development is Established
