This thematic brief presents key findings from Georgia’s first-ever Time Use Survey (GTUS), conducted by UN Women in partnership with the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat). The survey reveals that women in Georgia spend significantly more time on unpaid domestic and care work compared to men, leading to reduced participation in the labour force and exacerbating gender inequalities. The brief highlights the necessity for policy interventions aimed at recognizing, reducing, and redistributing unpaid care work to promote gender equality and economic empowerment for women.
