Impact of the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) on Georgia’s Economy

This assessment examines the potential economic implications for Georgia of the European Union’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), which links market access and competitiveness to greenhouse gas emissions performance. With particular focus on sectors and products covered by the mechanism, the analysis combines economic modelling, trade and competitiveness assessments, and extensive consultations with representatives of government institutions, businesses, industry associations, and experts. The objective is to support informed decision-making and help stakeholders in both public and private sectors prepare for the implementation of CBAM and future climate-related trade measures.
