Gender Equality in Georgia in Gap III Priority Areas: Country Review

This Country Review provides an overview of the current situation of gender equality in
Georgia across the priority areas of the EU Gender Action Plan III (GAP III). It provides
information to support the integration of gender perspective into policies, programmes and
projects – forming part of the gender analysis required to guide EU support for gender
equality in the country. It highlights gender gaps in Georgia and their impact on society,
identifies where gender mainstreaming is missing in policies and programmes, and reviews
the immediate impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on gender equality. This information was
used to inform the development of the EU’s Country-Level Implementation Plan (CLIP) for
Georgia. This document was produced in the framework of the EU4 Gender Equality Reform
Helpdesk project, funded by the European Union and implemented by Niras.
