Domestic and gender-based violence (course support)

Family and gender-based violence is today considered one of the most common crimes committed in any society and country in the world, and this phenomenon has reached the proportions of a real epidemic. In recent years, the Republic of Moldova has carried out several actions aimed at ensuring gender equality between women and men and the prevention and combating of family violence. But the successful implementation of actions can only be ensured by the involvement of trained professionals who are not affected by stereotypes and social norms, including medical personnel.

The work contains the theoretical aspects of the course “Family and gender-based violence” and is intended for medical students, residents, clinicians and teaching staff as a course support for the training process.

The course support will contribute to increasing the understanding among doctors and future doctors of all aspects of the phenomenon of family and gender-based violence in order to make their professional intervention more efficient in these cases and ensure the respect of the victims’ rights.
