Gender equality is crucial for achieving a just and effective green transition. The European Union (EU) is committed to and supports this principle through its policies and financial assistance in its Neighbourhood and Western Balkans region. However, there is still significant work to be done to fully integrate gender considerations into all aspects of the green transition. This paper explores the importance of gender equality in the green transition, focusing on the support of the EU, the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), and partner organisations for the EU Neighbourhood and the Western Balkans.
