Ukrainian YEAs join youth media communication talk show ‘Better at Home’ in Berlin

Two Ukrainian Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) – Maryna Sabashenko and Sofiia Muraviova – joined the youth media communication talk show ‘Better at Home’, held in Berlin, Germany, on 25 May. The show was part of an international telebridge connecting Kyiv, Warsaw, Berlin, Prague, and Madrid.

The event took place at the newly opened Unity Hub Berlin and brought together approximately 150 participants from Kyiv, Warsaw, Berlin, Prague and Madrid – young Ukrainians, public figures, policymakers, business representatives, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Yulia Svyrydenko.

Participants discussed what Ukraine could look like after the war, what opportunities await young people, and how they can contribute to the country’s reconstruction and development. The conversation also addressed practical opportunities for those considering a return to Ukraine.

The Unity Hub Berlin was officially opened in Berlin on 14 April 2026. The initiative was established by the Government of Ukraine, in cooperation with the German government. Unity Hub Berlin serves as a central contact point for Ukrainians who have fled to Germany due to Russia’s war of aggression. It provides access to consultations, educational and cultural programmes, community events, and information about public services.

The event aimed to strengthen dialogue between Ukrainian youth living abroad and decision-makers while promoting active civic engagement and international cooperation.

“For young Ukrainians living abroad, it is essential to remain involved in shaping the future of our country. Events like ‘Better at Home’ create a unique space where young people can directly engage with decision-makers and ensure that their voices are heard,” said Maryna Sabashenko, a YEA from Ukraine.

The talk show was organised in cooperation with the Embassy of Ukraine in Germany, Ukrainian youth organisations, including Plast and SUM, as well as media and communication partners involved in the ‘Better at Home’ project.
The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative brings together socially engaged youth from the six Eastern Partner countries, the European Union and the United Kingdom to foster dialogue and to raise awareness about the EU and its cooperation with its Eastern partner countries.
