Ukraine: Lviv receives first trams purchased with loan funds from EIB

Starting from the 10 December, the Ukrainian city of Lviv began receiving delivery of the first low-floor trams produced in Ukraine.

This was made possible thanks to Lviv’s participation in the ‘Ukraine Urban Public Transport Project” (UUPTP) Framework Loan, financed by the EIB. Under the project, the city received a €12 million loan to purchase ten five-section, 100% low-floor trams.

The new trams will improve passenger experience for over 780,000 citizens of Lviv and facilitate the transition to more energy efficient and eco-friendly transport. Thanks to low floors and wide doors, barrier-free access will be provided for the elderly, people with disabilities, and passengers with prams.
