U-LEAD with Europe: 2,500 generators and 1,000 chainsaws for Ukrainian municipalities

The EU-funded U-LEAD with Europe programme has provided 333 Ukrainian municipalities with 2,500 generators and 1,000 chainsaws in the past months.

The equipment provided helps to power waterworks and other critical facilities, as well as prepare firewood for heating and thus support hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians during the Russian war of aggression.

The ‘Ukraine – Local Empowerment, Accountability and Development Programme’, in short U-LEAD with Europe, is a partnership of the Ukrainian government and the European Union and its member states, that aims to enhance local self-government in municipalities, including during the times of war and recovery.
