New phase of EU4Youth launched to support youth engagement and empowerment

The fourth phase of the regional EU4Youth Programme has officially been launched. The new three-year regional project for the Eastern Partnership will contribute to increasing the influence of young people in determining policy outcomes.

The ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project is implemented by the German development agency GIZ and will run from 2023-2025. It is funded with an EU contribution of €5 million, and €600,000 from the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).

The main objective of this new phase of EU4Youth is to bolster youth policy dialogues across all levels in the Eastern Partnership region, while also enhancing youth work quality and accessibility, particularly targeting young individuals in remote or disadvantaged regions.

Project activities will help increase the capacity of youth organisations and state institutions to jointly promote a more participatory and structured policy dialogue and improve the quality and reach of youth work to mobilise and engage more young people from remote/disadvantaged areas.

The new phase will build on the successes of the EU4Youth regional programme, which since 2017 has been supporting the employment, entrepreneurship, and active participation of young people in the Eastern partner countries.
