M4EG: Georgia names start-up to represent country in Start-up World Cup in LA

The EU-supported national edition of the Start-up World Cup was held in Batumi on 10 September, choosing the start-up that will represent Georgia at the international competition in Los Angeles.

Ten leading Georgian start-ups took part in the competition. Of these, Theneo, which explores ways of generating high-quality, interactive API docs (technical documentation) took first place.

The best Georgian start-up will compete for the grand prize of US$1,000,000 in investment  in Los Angeles, USA, where the final stage of the world’s largest start-up competition will take place on 30 September. Representatives of venture capital and businesses from more than 70 countries will gather in Silicon Valley to reveal the winner.

The Start-up World Cup Georgia was supported by the European Union, UNDP, USAID Economic Security Programme, the Georgia Innovation and Technology Agency (GITA) and Batumi City Hall in the framework of Mayors for Economic Growth/M4EG, an EU-UNDP regional partnership with municipalities.
