EU4Youth organises study visit to Poland

On 9-13 June, the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project and the Municipality of Wroclaw organised a study visit to Wroclaw, Poland for representatives of youth-focused public institutions and civil society organisations from the Eastern Partnership countries.

The visit aimed to explore practices in fostering youth participation locally, deepen understanding of municipal cooperation with youth structures, and strengthen cross-border dialogue on youth policy development.

The programme included a series of meetings with key municipal bodies, such as the Wroclaw City Hall and Department of Education, where participants learned about the city’s  approach to working with youth, promoting social cohesion, and developing inclusive public services. Participants also visited the Wroclaw Centre for Social Development, which plays a central role in implementing community-focused youth initiatives and promoting dialogue among diverse groups in the city.

The delegation also engaged with the Wroclaw Foreign Relations Office, where they discussed the city’s partnerships and cooperation with Eastern Partnership countries regarding youth engagement and international solidarity. A visit to the Office of the European Parliament in Wroclaw provided insights into the EU’s role in empowering young people and supporting democratic participation across the region.

The participants also explored local youth initiatives at institutions such as CUKR – Wroclaw’s intercultural space for integration and development – and the European Solidarity Corps, where they learned about volunteering opportunities, cross-border youth mobility, and civic activism at the European level. The visit also included interactive sessions and peer-to-peer learning formats that allowed for reflection, mutual exchange, and networking. Participants shared insights into how local-level practices could be adapted to their national contexts and explored possibilities for continued cooperation.

The study visit was organised by the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project, which is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by GIZ.
