EU4Youth Alumni gather for IdeaLab event in Chisinau

The EU4Youth Alumni Network recently hosted one of its largest in-person events, bringing together up to 60 participants from five Eastern Partnership countries in the Moldovan capital Chisinau on 14-17 February. Participants came together to exchange experiences, learn from each other, and develop innovative initiatives for disadvantaged youth to be implemented by July 2025.

The event was transformative for many participants, including a first-year alumna from Georgia, who described it as “an eye-opening experience that helped to zoom out and see the bigger picture, equipping me with the strategic thinking and development tools of my initiative”. The alumna highlighted the structured activities and peer support that not only helped shape her idea but also allowed her to consider potential threats, risks, challenges, and positive outcomes.

One of the standout initiatives from the event was the development of a digital ID-based platform in Georgia. This platform aims to connect youth with municipal authorities, ensuring that young voices play a crucial role in shaping local governance and public spending.

Participants also had the opportunity to work closely with country mentors, engage in various capacity-building activities, and connect online with participants of the Youth Meetup in Lviv. This meetup was part of the All-Ukrainian communication campaign, ‘Together, We Learn and Grow’, organised by the EU Delegation to Ukraine. The campaign aims to highlight the comprehensive EU support for Ukrainian children and youth since the start of the full-scale war.

The Lviv event was organised in cooperation with the ’Lviv – European Youth Capital 2025’ team and the Lviv European Integration Bureau, showcasing EU-supported initiatives and projects in Ukraine.

The EU4Youth IdeaLab event in Chisinau not only fostered regional cooperation and solidarity among peers but also equipped young leaders with the tools and insights needed to drive meaningful change in their communities.
