The European Union welcomed the pardoning by Belarusian authorities of more than hundred political prisoners since July 2024.
Still, EU Lead Spokesperson for External Affairs, Peter Stano, wrote yesterday on X Platform, the EU is “alarmed” by continued arbitrary detentions and calls on the regime to stop the ongoing repression.
“Over 1300 political prisoners who are still kept in inhumane conditions must be released,” Stano said.
