Last week, 30 officers from the ‘Fulger’ Special Police Brigade of the General Police Inspectorate of the Republic of Moldova took part in a specialised training, organised with EU support.
The ‘Onboard Intervention System – Type D Vehicle’ training aimed to enhance Fulger’s operational capacities and rapid response. The broader goal was to strengthen the internal security of the Republic of Moldova in the face of increased hybrid threats.
This theoretical and practical session aimed to deepen knowledge and skills in entry, neutralisation, and extraction techniques under tactical conditions, using the specific configuration of a Type D vehicle — a vehicle designed for rapid intervention in high-risk situations.
Recently, the Fulger Brigade received two armoured vehicles equipped with ladder systems for special interventions.
“Taken together, the addition of armoured vehicles and intervention ladders will significantly increase the operational capacity of special forces to manage crises, enabling rapid and safe interventions in complex environments,” the EU Delegation to Moldova said in a press release.
The training was organised by the Stabilisation Platform as part of the ‘Integrated Response Mechanism for Ukraine’ project, co-funded by the European Commission through the Foreign Policy Instrument (FPI), with the support of the German government.
