The European Union was finalising a €6 billion drone support package, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced yesterday.
In a post on X, von der Leyen reacted to Russia’s “longest and most relentless” drone attack against Ukraine, which took place on 13 May.
“Another night of death and destruction. And the indiscriminate targeting of civilians,” von der Leyen said. “While Russia openly mocks diplomatic efforts, we continue to strengthen Ukraine.”
The European Commission President added the EU would keep the pressure on Russia’s war economy “with ever tougher sanctions”.
