Erasmus+ announces selection of 73 new projects in VET: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine are on the list

On 2 September, the European Union’s programme for education, training, youth and sport (Erasmus+) announced the newly selected international partnerships in vocational education and training. Among the 73 projects selected, nine partnerships will provide tangible results for the Vocational Education and Training (VET) in four Eastern partnership countries. 

• ‘Hubs for Change: VET as an Entrepreneurial Vehicle in the Eastern Neighbourhood’ – coordinated by Greece, this project will benefit VET providers in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine by transforming them into entrepreneurial hubs, with additional support from Lithuania.
• ‘Empowering Smallholders through Precision Agriculture Training to Bridge the Technology Gap in Ukraine and Georgia’ – coordinated by Greece, with various partners from Germany, this project provides support to Georgian and Ukrainian small farms.
• ‘VET-Caucasus – Strengthening VET systems in Armenia and Georgia for skills and workforce development’ – coordinated by Latvia and supported by Belgium and Italy, this partnership will contribute to VET systems in Armenia and Georgia.
• ‘Enhancing women entrepreneurship in AGRIculture in Georgia through targeted Vocational Education and Training’ – coordinated by Greece and its University of Peloponnese, aided by Lithuania’s ‘Europiniu inovaciju centras’, this partnership focuses on women-led businesses in Georgia.
• ‘Strengthening the Capacity of Vocational Education and Training  through Environmental Learning and Digital Tools’ – this partnership is coordinated by Poland and includes Ukrainian-founded Swedish NGO ‘Mirakademien’, as well as three Ukrainian-based organisations. 
• ‘From community-based intangible cultural heritage to social entrepreneurship. VET programme in craftsmanship within the Neighborhood East (Moldova and Ukraine)’ – coordinated by Romania and aided by Portugal and Spain, this project will deliver results in Moldova and Ukraine, with the participation of their organisations.
• ‘Workbased learning quality assurance in VET in Moldova – from EQAVET to WBL quality’ – this partnership is coordinated by Germany and supported by Austria, with three Moldovan organisations joining the project.
• ‘Modernising Moldovan VET in the Digital and Green transitions by developing curricula, improving labour market participation of vulnerable groups, and modernising school infrastructure’ – coordinated by the Dutch CINOP (Centre for Innovation of Education and Training) organisation and with Romanian aid, this project includes two Moldovan organisations. 
• ‘Mental Health Matters: Strengthening VET and Social Assistance Capacities’ – coordinated by Cyprus, with participation from Greece and Italy, this partnership will strengthen Moldova’s VET system by integrating mental health education into the training of social assistants. 

More than €27 million have been allocated to the 73 new projects. This Erasmus+ project aims to foster cross-border digital innovation, sustainability and to strengthen global networks.
