Organisations from Armenia, Georgia, and Moldova will host artist residency projects, selected as part of the Culture Moves Europe programme, part of the EU’s ‘Creative Europe’ initiative.
In total, the 2025-2026 call for residency hosts received 1,326 applications from 38 Creative Europe countries.
In Armenia, the Sonic Ecologies residency by Otar Oghak (OO) Association will take place during COP19 in Yerevan. It will be a 25-day residency exploring the constellation between sonic practices and environmental systems through research-driven, site-specific projects at the Botanical Garden.
Through ‘The Shine of Our Eyes’ residency in Yerevan, Typography Collective (TRAPAN NGO) aims to create a feminist and decolonial dialogue where visual artists, especially women working with crafts, can learn from Armenian traditions and masters.
The Two Coins project, conducted by Caucasus Cinema (Georgia), will invite five artists to explore the traditions, mythology and crafts of the Guria region in Georgia.
In Moldova, ‘Forest Memory Lab – Art, Ecology & Ancestral Craft’ will be a 40-day international residency hosted by a rural eco-village near the Codru forest. The project invites five artists from Creative Europe countries to explore the relationship between forest, cultural memory, and sustainable craft practices.
The combined budget of the call is more than €2.1 million. The grants per project depend on the duration (between 21 and 90 days) and the number of invited artists and cultural professionals (from one to five).
Selected hosts have until 30 September 2026 to select and confirm their residents. All projects should be concluded by 7 June 2027.
