Be strong, be brave, be fearless. EU leaders express their support for Zelenskyy after his clash with Trump

“You are never alone, dear President Zelenskyy,” European Council President, António Costa, Head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and European Parliament President, Roberta Metsola, said in a joint post released on X, supporting the Ukrainian President after yesterday’s verbal clash in Washington with President Donald Trump and Vice-President James David Vance.

“Your dignity honours the bravery of the Ukrainian people /../ Be strong, be brave, be fearless,” they posted on X. They added that they would continue working with Volodymyr Zelenskyy for “a just and lasting peace”.

EU High Representative Kaja Kallas also wrote on X that the EU stands by Ukraine. 

“Ukraine is Europe!” Kallas said. “We will step up our support to Ukraine so that they can continue to fight back the aggressor. Today, it became clear that the free world needs a new leader. It’s up to us, Europeans, to take this challenge.”
