On 4 March, a new office of the Public Defender of the Bar Association of the Republic of Armenia opened in the Berd community, in the Tavush region of Armenia.
The office was established as part of ‘ATHENA: Advancing the human rights agenda and enhancing national authorities’ project, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP, UNICEF, and UNFPA.
Residents of Berd and the surrounding area will now have the opportunity to receive free legal assistance locally, ensuring their right to effective legal protection.
“The Office of the Public Defender of the Bar Association of the Republic of Armenia continues to expand its presence in the regions to provide legal support to every citizen regardless of their place of residence,” the Bar Association said in a Facebook post, reposted by UNDP Armenia.
