New EU Ambassador designate arrives in Moldova


The EU Ambassador designate to the Republic of Moldova, Janis Mazeiks, presented copies of letters of accreditation to the Moldovan Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu.

Mazeiks and Popescu also discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation and the strategic importance of EU-Moldova relationship.

Janis Mazeiks will replace outgoing Head of Delegation Peter Michalko, who has been appointed as Head of Delegation of the European Union to Azerbaijan. 

The EU Delegation to Moldova recently released a farewell video, expressing gratitude to Ambassador Peter Michalko for his “exceptional work over the past four years, immense dedication to the mission and true belief in the future of this country”.
