First EU-Georgia Business Forum takes place in Tbilisi

On June 21, the first EU-Georgia Business Forum 2022 took place in Tbilisi. The event was organised by the European Business Association (EBA), with the support of the European Union.

More than 200 participants, including EU Ambassador to Georgia Karl Hartzell, representatives of the Georgian parliament, government, business support organisations, European companies from various sectors, the diplomatic corps, international organisations and financial institutions took part in the forum.

A specially organised space was reserved for B2B meetings between the forum participants. At the same time there was also a trade exhibition of products of successful European companies.

The European Business Association also presented its concept of the European Economic Cooperation Platform (EECP) as a mechanism for strengthening cooperation between business sector associations.

The European Union has long advocated strengthening the voice of European business and Georgian business involved in trade with the EU. This has been the basis for our work to create a European Platform for Economic Cooperation together with the EBA. By launching this platform, we are taking a qualitative step forward in realising these ambitions,” said Carl Hartzell, the EU Ambassador to Georgia.
