Mehdi is interested in politics, economics and diplomacy and is currently studying for a Bachelor in Finance at Azərbaycan Dövlət İqtisad Universiteti (Azerbaijan State University of Economics). He considers it a great honour to be a Young European Ambassador and is looking forward to significantly contributing to the development of a network among young people all around Europe, instilling the values of European democracy and maintaining a sense of unity in the civic public. In his opinion, there are special and unique capabilities in almost every young person, and he believes that by determining and guiding these skills in the right direction and working together constructively, we can endow the future with successful professionals, and creative leaders, subsequently leading our generation to a brighter future.

It is part of the larger Neighbourhood Communication Programme (2020-2024) for the EU's Eastern and Southern Neighbourhood, which also includes 'EU NEIGHBOURS south’ project that runs the EU Neighbours portal.
