Leonie is currently a third-year student at Maastricht University, where she is pursuing an Bachelor degree in European Studies. She was raised in Germany and Switzerland, and has participated in exchange programs in Russia and South Korea. These experiences have taught her that culture and shared experiences can bring people together, no matter where they come from. Leonie’s curiosity about Eastern Europe, as well as her general interest in history, politics, and art, motivated her to apply to become one of the Young European Ambassadors. She is excited about working with other young, passionate individuals who share her enthusiasm for promoting cross-cultural understanding.

This website is managed by the EU-funded Regional Communication Programme for the Eastern Neighbourhood ('EU NEIGHBOURS east’), which complements and supports the communication of the Delegations of the European Union in the Eastern partner countries, and works under the guidance of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, and the European External Action Service. EU NEIGHBOURS east is implemented by a GOPA PACE-led consortium. It is part of the larger Neighbourhood Communication Programme (2020-2024) for the EU's Eastern and Southern Neighbourhood, which also includes 'EU NEIGHBOURS south’ project that runs the EU Neighbours portal.
