In the lead-up to World Environment Day 2026, the Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative in Armenia is organising a clean-up activity around the Azat Reservoir to raise awareness about the need for environmental action, emphasising that it is sustained through daily community efforts.
The activity is scheduled for 20 June, 10am.
Pre-registration is mandatory. The deadline for registration is 13 June.
The Azat Reservoir is used for irrigating the Ararat Valley, where agriculture is highly developed. By choosing this area as the main location for the activity, they aim to highlight the critical importance of safeguarding water resources for sustainable agriculture and local communities.
The meeting point will be the Republic Square in Yerevan. Transportation for participants from Yerevan to Azat Reservoir and back will be arranged by the YEAs initiative.
All participants will be provided with gloves and water.
The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative brings together socially engaged youth from the six Eastern Partner countries, the European Union and the United Kingdom to foster dialogue and to raise awareness about the EU and its cooperation with its Eastern partner countries.
