Ukraine: modernised hospital laboratory opens in Makariv with EU support

The clinical diagnostics laboratory at Makariv Hospital has been renovated with EU support, the EU Delegation to Ukraine announced on 22 June, quoting Vadym Tokar, the head of Makariv.

In addition to refurbishing the premises, the local community funded the purchase of modern laboratory furniture and the setup of staff workstations. Thanks to this, the laboratory is now operating in line with modern research standards.

Tokar said the modernisation would allow community residents to receive the necessary laboratory services directly in Makariv, while medical staff will be able to work in comfortable, properly equipped conditions.

The repairs were carried out under the ‘EU Support for the Recovery of Makariv’ programme, funded by the European Union and coordinated by NEFCO.
