The project, ‘Development of cross-border mobility: improving the accessibility of road infrastructure in Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions and the Podkarpackie Voivodeship’, aims to improve transport links along the Ukrainian-Polish border and develop road infrastructure.
As part of the project, a major overhaul is planned in Zakarpattia for the section of the H-13 Lviv-Sambir-Uzhhorod national road between km 169+500 and km 172+400.
According to the grant agreement, the project will run from until 30 April 2028.
The total budget for DRIVEConnect is over €20.4 million, of which over €14.6 million is earmarked for Ukraine. In particular, the European Union grant for the Ukrainian side amounts to €11.37 million.
The project has already been registered with the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The project documentation is currently being finalised. Once a positive expert opinion is received, the Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service will launch a tender and select a contractor to carry out the work.
