Moldova participates in Youth Advisory Board in Brussels

On 3 December, the first meeting of the Youth Advisory Board of the President of the European Commission took place in Brussels. Moldova was represented by young delegate Laura Vition.

The Youth Advisory Board is a new body, announced in the Political Guidelines for the 2024-2029 mandate, created to provide advice on EU policies affecting young people and to strengthen their role in shaping the Union’s future. The Council brings together young representatives from all EU member states, the European Youth Forum, and observers from candidate countries.

The first meeting focused on concerns related to the use of social media by children and young people.

At the Forum, Laura Vition delivered Moldova’s youth messages, saying the youth of Moldova was ready to actively contribute to the future of the EU. She also spoke about the need for a safe digital environment where young people could connect, communicate, and express themselves freely, and called to expand Erasmus+ programmes for young people from candidate countries and to maintain constant dialogue with youth.
