Moldova: EU4Youth helps to launch Leadership Academy to empower youth in Gagauzia

The Civic Initiatives Centre for National Minorities (ICPMN, Moldova) launched its Leadership Academy in Gagauzia last weekend, aiming to empower the youth of the region.

The first module of the programme, on ‘Civic Activism and Human Rights’, brought together 40 young participants from various villages and towns across Gagauzia. During the session, they engaged in discussions on key issues such as the importance of respecting minority rights, the role of civic participation, the art of debate, and other topics.

The Leadership Academy, implemented by ICPMN, seeks to unite more than 100 young people from Gagauzia, Taraclia, and Basarabeasca. The programme is designed to equip them with the skills necessary to become active, informed citizens who can contribute meaningfully to their communities.

ICPMN is a beneficiary of the grant programme under the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project, co-financed by the European Union and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
