European Council to discuss support for Ukraine on 20 and 21 October

EU heads of state and government will discuss possible new support measures for Ukraine at the European Council to be held in Brussels on 20 and 21 October.

This was announced by Council President Charles Michel in his invitation letter to Council members.

“At our meeting, I would like us to discuss our assistance to Ukraine, and address in particular Ukraine’s immediate needs with a view to preparing it for this winter, as well as the sustainability of our mid- and long-term assistance,” said Michel.

The European Council will also discuss the energy crisis, related economic policies and critical infrastructure protection in view of the recent sabotage attacks against the Nordstream pipelines.
