Eurokitchen: Young European Ambassadors prepare popular Lithuanian dessert

On 9 November, Young European Ambassadors (YEAs)  from EuroClub Gyumri, Armenia, conducted a second episode of the ‘Eurokitchen’ event series featuring Lithuanian Ambassador to Armenia Andrius Pulokas.

The event gathered around 25 young people from the Shirak region of Armenia.

The event celebrated 20 years of Lithuanian’s EU membership. YEAs cooked Lithuanian ‘tinginys’ and had a chance to interact with the Ambassador.

Tinginys (which means ‘lazy’ in English) is a popular dessert in Lithuania, typically prepared with biscuits or crackers, cocoa, butter, sugar, and solidified milk.

A cultural tour followed the cooking, providing the chance for the Embassy representatives to get to know some famous spots in Gyumri with the help of YEAs.

YEAs will continue their collaboration with the Lithuanian Embassy by organising a film screening on 16 November at EuroClub Oshakan, also to mark the 20th anniversary of Lithuania’s membership of the EU.
The Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) initiative brings together socially engaged youth from the six Eastern Partner countries, the European Union and the United Kingdom to foster dialogue and to raise awareness about the EU and its cooperation with its Eastern partner countries.
