On 1-2 March the ‘EU4Youth: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’ project organised a strategic session for the recently established Youth Council under the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine. The intensive two-day programme aimed at strengthening the capacity of the Youth Council and developing its strategy of activities.
The first day was dedicated to understanding the foundations of youth councils in Europe and Ukraine, delving into their legislative framework and the levels of youth policy implementation in Ukraine. The participants tried to define the mission of the Youth Council and to develop concrete action plans aligned with the expectations of both Council members and the Ministry.
The second day focused on the practical aspects of advocacy and budget analysis, highlighting their importance as core functions of the Youth Council. Participants continued working on their strategic plan, defining objectives and outlining steps for their realisation.
The results of the session will be finalised as a strategy document for the Youth Council, defining their vision, priorities and activities for the following two years.
The strategic session was organised by the project ‘EU4Youth IV: Youth Engagement and Empowerment’, co-financed by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) at the initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, and fostered by the All-Ukrainian Youth Centre, Youth Affairs Council under the President of Ukraine, and the ‘Youth Platform’ NGO.
