EU4Youth empowers young local leaders at Congress of Young Mayors and Local Advisors of Moldova

Young local leaders from across the Republic of Moldova came together to discuss the future development of their communities during the 5th edition of the Congress of the Platform of Young Mayors and Local Advisors, held on 5-6 May.

The event brought together approximately 60 participants, including young mayors, deputy mayors, local councilors, youth specialists, and representatives of youth structures from across the country. Over the course of two days, participants engaged in dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas focused on strengthening local communities and increasing youth participation at the local level.

Key topics discussed during the congress included local public administration reform, youth participation in decision-making processes, funding opportunities for communities, and European integration and the development of the local youth ecosystem.

The congress served as a platform for networking, learning, and cooperation among young leaders and professionals actively contributing to the development of communities throughout Moldova.

This activity was implemented by the National Youth Council of Moldova, with the support of the ‘EU4Youth: engagement and empowerment’ project, co-funded by the European Union and the German Government.
