EU and UNDP: Azerbaijani farmers learn best practices in Italy

A group of farmers from the Lankaran-Astara economic region of Azerbaijan recently undertook an EU-supported study tour to Europe.

During the week-long trip, the participants visited fruit and vegetable farms located in the Catania region of Italy. There they learnt about best practices in fruit growing, post-harvest activities, irrigation, packaging and product marketing.

The UNDP project ‘Promoting Competitiveness, Cooperation and Modernisation in the Fruit and Vegetable Sector in the Lankaran-Astara Economic Region’ is funded by the European Union and is part of the broader EU4Lankaran initiative.
