Armenia: EU supports human rights youth camp in Agvaran for displaced and local youth

With EU support, the ‘Armenian Progressive Youth’ NGO in mid-May organised a human rights youth camp in Agvaran (Armenia) for displaced and local young people.

The camp was organised as part of the EU-funded programme ‘Human Rights with and for Refugees’. The initiative aims to support and empower refugees in Nagorno-Karabakh by increasing their knowledge and awareness of their rights, and ensuring they have access to information about services and opportunities.

During the camp, participants discussed topics related to human rights and civic engagement, and acquired new skills and tools that they can subsequently apply to the development of their communities.

In addition, the young people had the opportunity to meet with experts, law enforcement agencies and other young people. As a result of this collaboration, they developed their ideas, turning them into concrete community initiatives.

The ‘Human Rights with and for Refugees’ project is implemented with the support of the European Union, the Democracy Development Foundation (Armenia), the Estonian Refugee Council, the Coalition To Stop Violence Against Women (Armenia), and Commit Global.
