The EU Delegation to Ukraine announced the winner and runners-up of its third annual essay contest ‘A letter to Europe’.
This year, the Delegation received 224 essays from pupils and students aged 16-22 from across Ukraine.
The works were evaluated by a jury consisting of Katarina Mathernova, EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Taras Kachka, Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, and Sevgil Musaieva, editor-in-chief of Ukrainska Pravda.
The winner of the Competition is Alina Konoz from Sumy, a student at Sumy State University and an alumna of EU Study Days.
Second place went to Taisiia Shustova from Kyiv, a student of Lyceum No. 8 and an alumna of EU Study Days.
The third prize was awarded to Karina Ivashchenko from Dolynska, Kirovohrad region, a student at the ‘Intellect’ Lyceum, school ombudswoman, and representative of the local children’s parliament.
A special distinction was awarded to Denys Kirichenko from Kryvyi Rih, a student at Kryvyi Rih National University.
The winning essays will soon be published by Ukrainska Pravda.
