EU4Energy to support Georgia in ensuring security of supply in the electricity sector

On 17 February, Energy Community experts, in close cooperation with the EU Delegation to Georgia and representatives of national authorities in the energy sector, launched the EU4Energy technical assistance initiative.

This action will help Georgia to establish rules that will ensure security of supply in the electricity sector. This will contribute to the prevention, preparation and mitigation of supply crises and thus security of supply for citizens and industry.

The Energy Community Secretariat will support the Georgian authorities in preparing the so-called Risk Preparedness Plan for the country’s electricity sector in line with the new EU Risk Preparedness Regulation, adopted last year. This Plan will take into account the specific characteristics of the Georgian power system.
