EU and Germany to support energy sector reform in Georgia

On 8 December, the European Union, KfW, the German investment and development bank, and the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia launched the next technical cooperation programme to support energy sector reform in Georgia. Its total budget is almost €8.5 million.

Georgian Energy Sector Reform (GESR) aims at strengthening the country’s energy security, improving the energy efficiency of public, industrial, and residential buildings and relevant infrastructure, and, in line with EU directives, to support the ongoing reforms of the electricity market and endorse the further development of renewable energy.
