Armenia: EU supports hackathon for cleaner water on Lake Sevan

More than 100 students took part in a hackathon on 15 October organised by the EU4SEVAN project, aimed at helping relevant government institutions to improve the monitoring and management of Lake Sevan and address the water quality.

EU4SEVAN aims to support cooperation on environment preservation, protection, improvement and rehabilitation as well as on the sustainable use of natural resources, including in the areas of water quality and resource management.

The improved water quality of Lake Sevan will lead to improved livelihoods – a more attractive environment for tourists, improvement in fisheries and more opportunities for the development of local agriculture and economy.
