Another step on Ukraine’s EU path: Zelensky hands back completed EU questionnaire

On 17 April, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky handed over the completed EU questionnaire to the head of the EU Delegation to Ukraine, Matti Maasikas.

The questionnaire, which forms a starting point for the EU to decide on Ukraine’s membership, was handed to Zelensky personally by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, when she visited Kyiv together with EU High Representative Josep Borrel on 8 April.

Another step on Ukraine’s EU path. Honoured to receive from Zelensky the answers to the EU Commission questionnaire…,” wrote Matti Maasikas on Twitter. “Extraordinary times take extraordinary steps and extraordinary speed.”

The EU resumed its diplomatic presence in Kyiv on 9 April.
