Mayors for Economic Growth: six cities across Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine join City Financial Advisory Programme

The EU-funded Mayors for Economic Growth (M4EG) initiative, implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), will support six municipalities across Armenia, Moldova and Ukraine under its City Financial Advisory Programme, following the recently launched call for Interest in the three countries.

The selected cities are:

Armenia: Tashir, Lori Province; Stepanavan, Lori Province.

Moldova: Ungheni, Centre Region; Edinet, North Region.

Ukraine: Trostianets, Sumy Oblast; Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

The initiative will support municipalities to further develop investment-ready projects and project pipelines aligned with their mission-driven urban strategy and urban programme goals.

The programme’s objective is to establish a City Finance Advisory Function (CFA Function) – a regional advisory and development mechanism designed to bridge the financing gap between cities and investors. It will enhance local financial capabilities and help aggregate urban development projects into bankable investment pipelines.

Each municipality will receive technical assistance and an EU-funded US$60,000 grant to help build and advance their investment pipeline.
