U-Lead with Europe helps to deliver emergency aid from Slovenia

With the logistical support of the EU-funded U-LEAD with Europe team, emergency aid from Slovenia was delivered to partner municipalities in western Ukraine on 25 March. There are currently some 17,000 internally displaced people living in these municipalities.

Four Slovenian companies from the Prekmurje region sent some 12 tonnes of storable foodstuffs to the Ukrainian municipalities. In addition to goods from private companies, the municipalities of Kočevje, Odranci, Lenart and Logatec provided emergency aid. They donated hygiene items, water and rescue equipment. Some donations were given to a kindergarten, attended by about 60 IDP children from the Luhansk region.

The U-LEAD with Europe Programme is a multi-donor action of the European Union and its member states (Germany, Sweden, Poland, Denmark, Estonia and Slovenia) that helps to improve the delivery of administrative services in Ukraine.
