EU-supported anti-corruption programme in Ukraine switches to humanitarian aid: dozens of shelters equipped

EUACI, the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative in Ukraine, together with its local partner organisations and volunteers, has equipped shelters in Kharkiv, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Dnipro, Odesa and other cities.

“Millions of Ukrainians are forced to hide and spend the night in shelters most of the time. To ensure their minimum comfort and safety, from the first weeks of the war, we began to equip the shelters of Ukrainian cities with the most necessary things. We insulate walls, procure sleeping bags, rugs, blankets, air purifiers, washbasins, etc.,” says EUACI.

However, the programme’s assistance did not stop there. Earlier, representatives of the programme wrote that its staff in western Ukraine were providing round-the-clock assistance to volunteers providing basic humanitarian aid in Mariupol, to refugees queuing to cross the border into Poland, and to civil society organisations supporting internally displaced people in Nikopol and Chernivtsi.

“We provide support and protection to national anti-corruption institutions, which courageously continue their important work despite the war. We support Ukrainian journalists who report on the war in a relevant and timely manner. And these are just some of the many ongoing activities,” added the programme.
