Mariia is a high school student, who is passionate about volunteering, history, art and international affairs. She is involved in a lot of youth initiatives in her town of Odessa and is keen to surround herself with highly educated people, experienced public figures, artists and volunteers. Mariia is particularly impressed by such a value of the EU as a civil society. Her sincere motivation to join the Young European Ambassadors’ initiative was to deepen knowledge in interaction between the people and the government and building a dialogue between different states and cultures. She is convinced the initiative helps to apply ideas, skills and knowledge in raising people’s consciousness, creating beneficial opportunities for youth and strengthening the democracy.
