Azerbaijan: competition to support innovative ideas in vocational education 


The European Union, UNDP and the State Agency on Vocational Education (SAVE) have announced a competition to support innovative initiatives by vocational education (VET) institutions in Azerbaijan. The competition is held within the framework of the EU-funded ‘VET for the Future’ project.

Vocational education institutions can submit project proposals in the following areas: 

1) alternative energy, efficient use of energy resources and increasing the energy use effectiveness; 

2) creation of innovative solutions for environmental protection and tackling ecological challenges; 

3) involvement of women and girls, people with disabilities and other vulnerable groups to vocational education; 

4) projects supporting the development of agriculture.

The ‘VET for the Future’ project will support ten winning projects with the materials and equipment required for the implementation of these ideas; the maximum budget for each project proposal is 15,000 manats.

The deadline for applications is 30 November 2023.

To answer questions regarding the submission of project proposal, a meeting will be held on 27 October. Applicants wishing to participate in the meeting can register by emailing to [email protected] until 25 October

The ‘VET for the Future’ project aims to support the modernisation of VET providers in Azerbaijan and increase the labour market relevance of vocational education.
