EU to support digitalisation of 25 schools in Moldova

A total of 25 schools in Moldova will be digitalised with the financial support of the European Union.

Biology, physics, geography and other lessons will become interactive in these schools.

The Digital School project will be implemented in the districts of Briceni, Calarasi, Cahul, Cantemir, Falesti, Floresti, Hincesti, Ialoveni, Leova, Taraclia, Vulcanesti, UTA Gagauzia and the municipalities of Chisinau and Balti.

The programme has already started at the Dimitrie Cantemir Lyceum in Cantemir, where a digital laboratory has been set up. The lab is equipped with an interactive whiteboard, a high-performance printer, ten computers and ten new laptops connected to a fast internet connection. Students can study graphic design, entrepreneurship, website creation and programming.

The Digital School initiative was made possible through a joint partnership between Tekwill, EU, UNDP, USAID, Swedish Government, Ministry of Education and Research of Moldova, the e-Government Agency, and other partners.
