EU provides grants of €100,000 to Local Action Groups from Ungheni and Cahul

Two Local Action Groups (LAGs) from the regions of Ungheni and Cahul will receive EU-funded grants totalling €100,000.

The LAGs ‘Răzeșii Pyretusului’, from Ungheni, and ‘Lunca Prutului de Jos’, from Cahul, were selected in a second call for proposals launched in February 2022 under the EU-funded programme ‘EU4Moldova: Focal Regions’, implemented by UNDP and UNICEF.

Each LAG will receive €50,000. This financial assistance will be invested in community development projects and creating jobs in villages in the Ungheni and Cahul districts.

The ‘EU4Moldova: Focal Regions’ Programme (2019-2024), with a total budget of €23 million, supports smart, inclusive and sustainable social-economic development in Cahul and Ungheni, to ensure better quality of living for citizens.
