Mariam is a student who enjoys volunteering in her free time. She believes that volunteering is the best opportunity to develop oneself and make a positive impact in any community. She has been volunteering since 2020 and has contributed to non-governamental organisations like “Research Intellectual Club Dialogue of a Generation” (RICDOG). She is a member of the Youth Council of Kutaisi and the leader of the Youth Committee, making her responsible for issuing recommendations to the Mayor of the city regarding youth needs. She tries to raise awareness about the European Union and often holds training sessions and meetings about on this subject. She also won an award and became Community Ambassador and author of programme ‘Why EU?’. Mariam strongly believes that young people can improve the future and make the world a better place to live.

EU NEIGHBOURS east is implemented by a GOPA PACE-led consortium. It is part of the larger Neighbourhood Communication Programme (2020-2024) for the EU's Eastern and Southern Neighbourhood, which also includes 'EU NEIGHBOURS south’ project that runs the EU Neighbours portal.
