Lot 3 Supply of specialised vehicles for the Sector for Control and Investigations/Law Enforcement Department of the Customs Administration

Project Description

This action supports the Customs Administration's operational capacity strengthening by equipping its Sector for Control and Investigations (Law Enforcement Department) with specialised vehicles. The intervention is designed to improve the effectiveness of customs mobile teams and K9 units in preventing and combating cross-border crime, illicit trade, and corruption.

By providing modern and purpose-built vehicles, the project enhances the mobility, responsiveness, and field presence of customs officers across the entire territory of the country. This contributes to more efficient inspections, improved enforcement operations, and stronger border security, in line with EU standards and best practices in customs control and law enforcement.
Specific Objective

The overall objective is to strengthen Customs Administration's capacity to combat cross-border crime, illicit trade, and corruption effectively.

The specific objectives are:

• Enhance the operational capacity and mobility of customs mobile teams.
• Strengthen the effectiveness of the K9 unit in detecting illicit goods and activities.
• Improve field-level enforcement and investigation capabilities across the country.
• Support more efficient and coordinated customs control operations in line with EU standards.
Expected Results

• Improved operational capacity of the Customs Administration through the provision of specialised vehicles.
• Increased mobility and efficiency of customs mobile teams and inspectors in conducting field operations.
• Strengthened capacity of K9 units through dedicated transport and operational support.
• Enhanced ability to detect and prevent cross-border crime and illicit trade.
• Provision of one dedicated vehicle for the safe transportation of temporarily detained individuals, supporting enforcement procedures.
